Check Your TPR Valve

A resident of Wareemba has been seriously injured in an incident where his ageing electric water heater has fallen on top of him while he was gardening next to it.

A fallen electric water heater that injured a Wareemba resident Police, fire & ambulance were called to the scene to assist the man who was trapped beneath his 400kg+ water heater and he was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries.

Chiswick Plumbing was called to help remove & replace the water heater and also to help determine why the heater fell over in the first place.

It was found that the water heater had a blocked T&PR valve, which allowed excess pressure to build within the tank, distorting the base and causing the heater to fall over.

IMPORTANT: Have your T&PR valve replaced at least every 5 years (or more frequently in areas of high water deposits).
